The reprinting of scarce publications relating to American voyages and expeditions is one of the many accomplishments of ex-Jesuit historian John Dawson Gilmary Shae (1824-92). This promotion piece was originally produced for one Edmund Plowden who hoped to establish settlements in "New Albion" including Long Island (not to be confused with Drake's New Albion on the Pacific coast).
