Brothers-in-law Henry C. Carey and Isaac Lea established their partnership in 1822, the same year they issued their Complete Historical, Chronological and Geographical Atlas of the United States>. In 1825 it was translated into French and published by Buchon in Paris. The revised American edition appeared in 1827.
