Dissected and mounted on linen. No covers. Faded original hand color: green for the river, parks and squares; pink for the City's border. The map extends north to Paddington / City New Road, south to Lambeth Palace and open fields south of the Thames, west to part of Hyde Park and east to Jewish Cemeteries along Mile End Road. Place of interest are identified: Houses of Parliament, Cricket Grounds in Paddington, The British Museum, and institutions like the Quakers Work House, Lady Lumley's Alms House, and the Foundling Hospital.
A well-used example of a travelers map with extensive lists of fares and destinations, many originating or terminating at inns or other gathering places such as Sommerset Coffee House in the Strand. Rules for Hackney-Coach Fares are given including rates for distance or time.
